Now that Texas is the clear #2, the two teams just need to concentrate on winning their remaining games to guarantee this epic match-up, as one little slip-up will have the Tide rush in and take their spot in the national spotlight on January 4th. If and when Texas and USC meet in the Rose Bowl, you would have to give the slight edge to USC, due to the game being played on their home turf, somewhat. Updated Power Rankings have USC at 104 and Texasat 103, thus slight edge to the Trojans on a neutral field. With the game being played in their backyard, you would have to open the line in the neighborhood of USC -4 or -5. And besides, can you come up with any reasons at all to doubt Pete Caroll, Reggie Bush and Matt Leinart in a pressure game?

The Colts clearly proved New England is too banged-up to be a threat this season. So my question to you now: are the Colts for real? Do they have what it takes (especially on defense) to be a Super Bowl champ?

GJ, BoDog: At the midway point of the season, clear to see that the Colts are the class of the NFL. It was a surprising stat to read today that Monday’s performance by Peyton Manning was his first 300+ yard game of the season; however that just shows the shift in the team’s focus this year. They possess the league’s #4 defense (compared to last year’s 29th place ranking) to go along with the league’s fourth-best offense. That said, are they for real? I cannot really answer
that until they actually have played someone. Patriots were too beaten up to give the Colts a fair test. The previous seven opponents are a combined 19-38, thus the true test will be November 20th in Cincinnati and then at home to face the Steelers the following week. If the Colts’ defense can remain as dominant against these top caliber teams, then, and only then, can I say that they have what it takes to hoist the Lomabardi Trophy in February.

BA, Pro Handicappers League: The Colts showed Monday night they are certainly legit. We all knew in the past that they had the capability to light up almost anyone offensively. That has not changed. It’s the defense that has made the difference this year. They are currently ranked 4th in the league overall in team defense allowing just 278.8 yards per game. Last year’s weakness, their run-stopping capability, has gone by the wayside as the Colts are allowing less than 100 yards a game. Overall they are allowing just 12.2 points per game as well, good for second-best in the league. GJ, BoDog: The Eagles would have struggled making the playoffs with or without Terrell Owens due to the division they are in and the injuries they have incurred; however they did what they had to do for the future success of this team. I have managed many an employee that had incredible talent, but had poisonous and destructive attitudes on the work floor. The decision to let that person go, thus hurting my company in the process in the short term, was very difficult yet necessary in ensuring a workforce that was working together as a team. The Eagles were a circus show with Owens on the sidelines. Now, hopefully, Coach Reid can get this issue behind him and focus his team out of the spotlight and onto the task at hand, which is back into the spotlight for a Monday Night game against the Cowboys. Reid has his work cut out for him.

The first NCAA Hoops poll is out. How much stake do you put in it? Is Duke really going to be that much better than everyone else?

GJ, BoDog: I don’t put too much weight into pre-season polls; however when a team receives 61 out of a possible 72 first-place votes, you tend to give the pre-season poll a little more notice. Duke is definitely the team to beat this year, with J.J. Redick and Shelden Williams, both AP All-Americans, returning for their senior year. Last time Duke had two All-Americans in their lineup was back in 1992 when Bobby Hurley (remember him?) and Grant Hill were teammates. Redick’s stats are quite impressive: he averaged just under 22 points in his junior year, and shot over 40% from the three-point line. Williams is an offensive and defensive force, averaging 15.5 points per game and averaging over 11 rebounds per game. Throw in the fact that the Blue Devils have the best freshman class in the nation, and it’s clear to see that they will be the team that cuts down the nets in early April and that we could quite possibly be seeing the start of what could be a Duke dynasty for the next few years. Texas, on the other hand, hopes to rebound from a disappointing first-round defeat by returning four double-digit scorers. The Longhorns possess possibly the most talented point guard in the nation in Daniel Gibson, who is one year older and smarter thus will be dominant all season if he stays healthy and if Texas can develop a back-up point guard to give Gibson some rest. Mark December 10th on your calendar, as Texas and Duke battle for what could be the #1 ranking in the nation.

Well I would have titled this piece ‘the online conspiracies of the west against Nigeria’ well that would sound cynic and inane. It will look as we are beggars at the rich man’s table waiting for crumbs that falls off his table; when we are kings in the making. However, it has become imperative that we will take on destiny instead of waiting lazily for it to come beckoning at us. But do you know one thing my friend? Your destiny cannot come to you except you shrug off the ashes of defeat, rise to your feet, and then take what rightly belongs to you. Sorry if I have digressed from the main topic of the day, well I was trying to crave your indulgence as is always the case with me. I don’t want to sound cynical but in this business is very good for you to be very truthful to your audience, telling them the reality of every situation, instead of leading them falsely by reporting fallacies and stuff.

Why this is so is that you can dwell on a chart a whole day waiting for a favorable signal to begin trading, while you are in your office waiting for the required signal, your boss will be telling the secretary to prepare your sack letter and pay-off. But if you learn the ropes you work smart as a FOREX trader, knowing the best times to trade; then you can jolly well make it a vocation, rather than a career as earlier speculated. The secret is that most FOREX traders don’t trade every day. This is another fact, you only trade when there are auspicious signs. Another secret is contentment (avoid being unnecessarily greedy), when you make a good move that gives you 20 to 30 pips, is usually advisable to quit at that juncture even if you see another favorable trend. Usually such trends end with you loosing the money you already made. So be careful, as it could be very enticing as well as deceitful

The fact about this market is that you make money if you avoid bull traps and interpret the market trends both fundamental and technical, looking at the charts, knowing when to buy and when to sell, knowing the best currency pair (e.g. euro/dollar), knowing when to enter and when to quit and Fibonacci analysis. If you get your self acquainted with all these, then your venture into this market will be worth the while, on the contrary the myth is that you don’t, make 30-40 pips daily by just taking part in a 2 day seminar or workshop as most will call it, most self acclaimed experts introduce you to robots that trade on your behalf, well the truth about robots is that they only function according to how they are programmed. Most robots are programmed using technical analysis, but this market is very volatile and economic trends in most leading economies especially the US can affect the market negatively or positively, for example the recent recession so experienced in the US resulted into a weak dollar and like a virus it spread to other economy especially the Euro zone and Japan: so if your robot was programmed following the reverse you can figure out what happens. The reality here is that you can only make it in FOREX when you master the ropes of the market as it has been noted that about 90 percent of those who go into FOREX exit after a short period of venturing. The fact then is that FOREX trading can be lucrative as well unprofitable. Which ever side of the divide you belong the choice is yours. In a famous experiment to prove that anyone could learn to trade, a diverse group of people with no experience were taught to trade and went onto to make hundreds of millions of dollars. If you want to learn forex trading you should learn from how they did it and that is the subject of this article.

The experiment took place in the late 1980’s, when well known trader Richard Dennis decided to prove anyone could learn to trade, regardless of age, sex or education. So he gathered a diverse group together and they only had one thing in common - they knew nothing about trading financial markets.

The group consisted of - a couple of card players, a boy who had just left school, as actor and a security to guard, to name just a few. Dennis then set about getting them ready to trade and a 14 day time period for learning was set.

The system taught was a simple one and was essentially a long term trend following breakout system - but Dennis knew that giving them a successful system was not enough; they had to learn to apply it with discipline. He taught them to have confidence in the system and gave them very strict money management rules they had to apply with discipline.

So why did this group do so well when most traders fail?

They of course had a good teacher and a logical system- but it was the disciplined application of the system with money management which saw these traders prosper.

What most forex traders cannot do is trade with discipline.

They think they can but they can’t and there are a few reasons for this.

First today, most traders don’t even bother trying to get the right forex education, they buy a junk forex robot with a made up track record and think there going to win, even if they get a good system, they can’t apply it because they don’t know how it works, they lack confidence and throw in the towel early.

Most forex traders are also very naive about drawdown or losing periods and think they don’t last long!

Any experienced trader will tell you they do! Even the best traders can lose for weeks, or months on end and you have to remain disciplined until you hit a home run and win.

If you think its easy, to keep executing a trading system, when the market hands you losses and makes you look a fool think again. It’s hard but if you understand losing is part of winning and take your losses cheerfully you can make a lot of money.

From this experiment you can take heart from the fact that anyone can win at forex trading with the right forex education and mindset and ok, you may not become as rich as the group above - but it shows you the opportunity and rewards are there and you can enjoy currency trading success too, if you learn the basics and have a disciplined mindset.
